Financial Motions

The JCR is proud to support a range of student societies and projects across St John’s College and beyond. If you would like to add to this list, contact the Secretary about submitting a Financial Motion.

Guidelines

The following guidelines were passed at a general meeting in Trinity 2026. JCR members may wish to refer to these guidelines, and the previously successful motions below, before submitting their own financial motion.

  • The proposal will benefit a fair number of individual JCR members, and/or the JCR as a collective.
  • The proposal asks for funding that is in line with any recent previous proposals of a similar nature.
  • The proposers have a long-term funding plan in place, if appropriate.
  • The proposers have asked other JCRs for funding, where appropriate.
  • The proposers have exhausted all means of direct financial support from St John’s College, where appropriate.
